Phil Crook MSc FInSTR has extensive experience in risk management, crisis, and disaster management, currently serving as a Teaching Fellow and lecturer at the University of Portsmouth since May 2012. In addition, Phil is the Exercise Director for The Simex Series and operates as a Director at FilCro Ltd. Since February 2016, Phil has led a working group for the UN Simulation and Training Network. Phil has significant roles with the UK Rescue Organisation and previously contributed to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. With a career spanning three decades at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, Phil held various leadership positions, including Section Leader for Urban Search and Rescue, where responsibilities included operational command, training planning, and inter-agency liaison. Phil is a Subject Matter Advisor for the National USAR capability and has served as a member of the UK International Search and Rescue Team. Phil is also engaged with the Chief Fire Officers Association, providing critical support in national resilience efforts. Phil holds a Master of Science degree in Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Portsmouth.
