Kara Marsh Proffitt

Kara Marsh Proffitt has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Kara currently works as a Life Coach at Kara Marsh Coaching, a position they began in 2021. Prior to this, they had a long and successful tenure at the University of San Diego, where they held various roles in the Office of Alumni Relations. Their most recent position there was as the Director of Alumni Operations and Engagement, a role they held from 2018 to 2023. In this position, they were responsible for overseeing internal processes and workflow management, as well as ensuring fiscal integrity for the department and its programs. One of their notable achievements during their time at the University of San Diego was building the Alumni Engagement Metric program. Kara also developed strategies and best practices in constituent engagement and leveraged volunteer talent to advocate for the university. Throughout their tenure, they partnered on numerous alumni engagement events and programs, totaling nearly 3,000 between 2004 and 2023.

Kara Marsh Proffitt completed their Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Urban Studies, and Leadership from the University of San Diego in the years 2000 to 2004. Kara later obtained a Certificate in Fundraising and Development from UC San Diego from 2008 to 2010. Kara has also pursued coursework in Conscious Leadership Academy at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences. In terms of certifications, Kara is a Master Certified Professional Coach from the Certified Life Coach Institute. Kara also holds a certification as a Certified Professional Life Coach from the same institution. Additionally, they have certifications in the Discipline of Frontline Fundraising from Plus Delta Partners and in Fundraising and Development from the University of California, San Diego.
