Daria D'Andrea serves as the President of the Northern California Viola Society since May 2018 and has been a self-employed violist, violinist, performing artist, and educator since January 1990. Daria currently holds the position of Professor of Violin, Viola, and Director of Chamber Ensembles at the University of San Francisco since January 2002, focusing on improving students' playing techniques to prevent strain injuries. Daria performs as a violist with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale and the Sacramento Philharmonic, and regularly contributes to the American Bach Soloists and California Symphony. With a diverse performance background across multiple musical styles, Daria is also involved in freelance work and has extensive orchestral experience since 1985. Educational credentials include a BA in Music from Reed College and studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
