Jairo Lugo-Ocando is a distinguished academic currently serving as a Professor at the University of Sharjah since January 2022, with a research focus on poverty, development, and the media's statistical representations. Previous roles include Professor in Residence and Director of Executive and Graduate Education at Northwestern University in Qatar from August 2018 to January 2022, and Associate Professor at the University of Leeds from February 2015 to January 2022. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Politics & International Relations from Lancaster University and a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies & Journalism from Universidad del Zulia.
