Rabih Halwani

Rabih Halwani serves as the Director of the Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences and a Professor of Immunology at the University of Sharjah since 2019. Halwani also coordinates the Rare Genetic Disorders and Immune-dysregulation group. Prior to this role, Halwani was associated with the College of Medicine at King Saud University from 2009 to 2019, where Halwani held positions including Associate Director of the College of Medicine Research Center and Professor of Immunology. Halwani's career began with a post-doctorate at the CHUM Research Center in Montreal, Canada, from 2004 to 2009. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Virology/Immunology from McGill University and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree from the American University of Beirut in Microbiology, Immunology, and Medical Lab Technology.
