Dr Doreen Donovan

Dr. Doreen Donovan is a seasoned academic and practitioner in the field of design, currently serving as Program Director for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) and Lecturer in Communication Design at the University of South Australia since March 2002. Doreen has a robust teaching portfolio that includes courses in undergraduate and postgraduate studio, theory, and research methods related to Communication Design, Illustration, and Creative Practice. Research interests encompass design activism, social advocacy, corporate identity design, and participatory action research, among others. Prior to this role, experience includes working as a Graphic Designer and Art Director at the Adelaide Festival Centre from March 1992 to January 2002. Dr. Donovan holds a Ph.D. in Design for Sustainability, as well as Bachelor's degrees in Visual Communication/Graphic Design from the University of South Australia.
