Michelle Epstein Garland has a diverse work experience starting in 2001 as an intern at the College of Charleston. Michelle later joined the University of Tennessee as a Graduate Assistant in 2004 and eventually became a Lecturer, teaching a variety of communication classes. In 2015, Michelle joined USC Upstate as a Basic Course Director and Assistant Professor, specializing in interdisciplinary studies and communication studies. Michelle has also held positions at the University of South Carolina Upstate as Director of Interdisciplinary Studies and Associate Professor.
Michelle Epstein Garland's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the College of Charleston, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Michelle then pursued a Master of Science in Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from 2004 to 2006. Michelle furthered their education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Communication and Information from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, between 2011 and 2015.
