Timothy Schorn is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in political science and emergency services. Currently serving as the Director of the International Studies Program and Associate Professor of Political Science at The University of South Dakota since 1995, Schorn also works as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter for the Vermillion Fire EMS Department since June 2022. A retired First Sergeant of the 147th Army Band in the South Dakota Army National Guard, Schorn has a robust military background that includes service as a Military Bandsman in the US Army from 1981 to 1984. Educationally, Schorn holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame, along with a Master of Laws in International Human Rights from De Montfort University, a Master of Arts in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame, a Juris Doctorate from Notre Dame Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Mount Marty University.
