Emily Reid

Emily Reid is a distinguished academic in the field of law, currently serving as a Professor of International Economic Law and Sustainable Development at the University of Southampton since January 2005. Throughout a robust career, Emily has held various positions, including Associate Professor in EU Law and Senior Lecturer in European Law at the same institution, and served as Head of School (Interim) at Southampton Law School. Prior roles include Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience at the Faculty of Business, Law and Art, University of Southampton, and Lecturer in Law at the University of Sussex. Emily’s academic journey began with a PhD in European and International Economic Law from the University of Southampton, after earning master's degrees and a Diploma of Legal Practice from Durham University and the University of Edinburgh, including a focus on human rights and democracy in international relations.
