Sasan Barak

Sasan Barak serves as the Department Head of Research and Assistant Professor at the University of Southampton's Department of Decision Analytics and Risk since September 2019. Sasan has held roles as a Partner and Advisor at Deep Finance (Ltd) from March 2021 to May 2024, and at Eveince from March 2022 to September 2022. Previous experience includes positions at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava as a Researcher, and Lancaster Centre for Forecasting as an Associate Researcher. Sasan also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Bergamo and as a Project Manager at Saman Tadbir Sharif, focusing on enterprise architecture design and strategy development. Early career includes a role as a Project Control Engineer at Samix. Sasan holds a PhD in Management Science from Lancaster University, a PhD in Economics, Applied Mathematics and Operational Research from Università degli Studi di Bergamo, and completed a summer school in data mining and time series prediction at EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, along with a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Yazd University.
