Zoe Matthews

Zoe Matthews is a Professor of Global Health and Social Statistics at the University of Southampton, a position held since June 2009. Prior experience includes consulting for the United Nations Population Fund from December 2014 to May 2015, serving as a Statistics Advisor for the Department for International Development from 2007 to 2008, and leading a monitoring and evaluation team for the World Health Organization's Making Pregnancy Safer initiative from September 2003 to May 2005. Zoe initially worked as a Statistician at British Gas from 1982 to 1988. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Statistical Demography from the University of Southampton, a Master of Science in Statistics from Newcastle University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from The University of Sheffield. Education was completed at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Girls.
