Katherine Perez

Katherine Perez is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in urban planning, policy development, and community engagement. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California since August 2008, Katherine teaches courses in Transit Oriented Development and Participatory Methods in Planning and Development. As a Principal and Cities Leader at Arup from January 2017 to June 2024, Katherine leads initiatives to integrate advisory services within the city context. Katherine co-founded Estolano LeSar Perez Advisors, LLC, providing integrated solutions for various agencies, and served as a Board Member for the California High-Speed Rail Authority, appointed by Governor Jerry Brown. Additionally, Katherine held significant roles as Executive Director for the Urban Land Institute’s Los Angeles District Council and as Vice President at Forest City Enterprises. Education includes a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Transportation from UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.
