Ferrante Neri

Ferrante Neri is a distinguished academic currently serving as Professor of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and Associate Dean (International) in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Surrey since April 2022. Prior to this role, Neri was an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham from April 2019 to April 2022 and held multiple positions at De Montfort University, including Professor of Computational Intelligence Optimisation and Reader in Computational Intelligence from March 2012 to March 2019. Neri's academic contributions include a visiting professorship at the University of Jyväskylä from September 2014 to August 2016 and a tenure as an Academy Research Fellow at the Academy of Finland from September 2009 to August 2014. Neri has a robust educational background, earning a PhD in Information Technology from the University of Jyväskylä and a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Politecnico di Bari, where a Master's degree in the same field was also obtained.
