Imalka Jayawardena

Imalka Jayawardena possesses extensive experience in academia and research, serving as an Academic Integrity Officer and Lecturer at the University of Surrey since July 2012, focusing on control engineering and renewable energy. Areas of research include the development of energy harvesting devices and materials, primarily photovoltaics and radiation sensors. Previous roles include Marcus Lee Lecturer in Energy Materials, where research was centered on innovative materials for energy technology, and multiple postdoctoral researcher positions leading initiatives in X-ray detection technology and next-generation solar cells. Imalka's career began as a Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa and includes experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Surrey.
