Ryan Abbott

Ryan Abbott serves as a Professor of Law and Health Sciences at the University of Surrey since 2016 and as a Mediator and Arbitrator at JAMS since December 2018. In addition, Ryan is a Partner at Brown Neri Smith & Khan LLP and holds an Adjunct Associate Professor position at UCLA, where responsibilities also included a role as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Medicine from 2013 to 2015. Ryan is active in professional organizations, including membership in the Global Health Law Committee of the International Law Association and serving as the Inaugural Chair of the Cross-Border Dispute Committee for the American Bar Association. Furthermore, Ryan co-chairs the AI Subcommittee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Previous experience includes serving on the board of Valley Community Healthcare and as an Associate Professor at Southwestern Law School. Educational achievements include a PhD in Law from the University of Surrey, an MD from UC San Diego School of Medicine, a JD from Yale Law School, an MTOM from Emperor's College, and a BS in Integrative Medical Theory from UCLA.
