Haitham Hassan

Haitham Hassan is an accomplished academic and researcher in the fields of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Sussex since October 2023, Haitham previously contributed as a Research Associate at Newcastle University, focusing on the design of DNA Encoded Libraries to enhance drug discovery efforts. Notably, Haitham was part of the COVID-19 Task Force at Institut Pasteur de Lille, developing inhibitors for 3CL-Protease, and has experience in medicinal chemistry and biology through diverse research roles, including postdoctoral fellowships and a PhD at Université de Bordeaux. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Université de Bordeaux and MSc degrees from the University of Graz and Fayoum University.
