Julian Worrall

Julian Worrall is a distinguished academic and architectural critic with extensive experience in higher education and architectural practice. Currently serving as Professor of Architecture at the University of Tasmania since January 2019 and as Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Adelaide since March 2014, Worrall focuses on enhancing curriculum and research in design and urbanism. Worrall's prolific writing contributions span notable publications such as Japan Times and Icon Magazine, covering architectural criticism and urban topics. Previous academic roles include positions at Waseda University and Sophia University in Japan. Worrall holds a PhD in Architectural and Urban History from The University of Tokyo and a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Adelaide. Complementing academic expertise, Worrall has worked with prominent firms, including Klein Dytham Architecture and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, where involvement included significant urban design projects.
