Bala Naidu has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. They began their career in 1995 as a CSC - Tech Support at Global Electronic Commerce Services. Bala then progressed to roles such as Web Developer/Web Master at Danah Online Services and Senior Analyst Programmer at Pentasoft Technolgies. In 2002, they joined Guava Interactive as a Web Application Developer for a brief period. Bala then worked at The George Institute from 2002 to 2012, starting as a Senior Developer/Oracle DBA and moving on to become a Team Leader - Programming and later a Programming Tech Lead. They continued their programming tech lead role at George Clinical from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, Bala worked as a Web Project Manager at UNSW Australia before joining NSW Office of State Revenue as a Senior Application Developer in 2015. Their most recent role is as a Research Applications Lead at the University of Technology Sydney, which started in March 2023.

Bala Naidu earned a Bachelor's degree in Science from the University of Madras in 1994. From 1991 to 1994, Bala Naidu attended the University of Madras. In 1996, Bala Naidu completed a Master's degree in Administration from the University of Madras. Bala Naidu pursued further education and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Electronic Commerce from TAFE NSW in 2003. Finally, from 2004 to 2008, Bala Naidu attended Deakin University to study Information Technology, earning a Master's degree.
