Hui Chen has extensive work experience in the field of academic research and teaching. Hui began their career as a Resident at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital in 2002. Hui then worked as a Research Associate at UNSW from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, they joined the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as a Lecturer and gradually progressed to become a Senior Lecturer, Director of Higher Degree by Research, and Associate Professor. From 2017 onwards, they held the position of Director of the China Program at UTS. In 2022, they became a Professor at UTS and is currently serving as the Associate Head of School (Research) and Director of the Surgical and Anatomical Science Facility.
Hui Chen earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Appetite regulation of Neuropeptide Y in mice from the University of Melbourne between 2003 and 2006. Prior to that, Chen obtained an MD and Master of Medicine degree in Medicine from Nanjing University during 1995 to 2002.
