Pascal Tampubolon

Pascal Tampubolon has extensive experience in the field of IT and research technology. Pascal currently holds the role of Head of Research Technology at the University of Technology Sydney, where they are responsible for setting and executing strategies for research technology and operations. Prior to this, Pascal served as the Acting Head of IT - Research and Technical Operations Manager in the same institution. Pascal also has experience as a Technical Team Lead for eResearch, where they led a team that provided technology solutions for machine learning, genomics sequencing, data visualization, and more.

Before joining the University of Technology Sydney, Pascal co-founded Zen Centric, a company that provided IT infrastructure architecture and maintenance services to small and medium enterprises. Pascal specialized in SPSS Dimensions/SPSS IBM Data Collection solution architecture and implementation, as well as enterprise Mac infrastructure design and support.

Earlier in their career, Pascal worked as a Lead Senior Systems Engineer at The Hollard Insurance Company, focusing on DevOps and managing core insurance systems and IT infrastructure. Pascal also served as an Advisory Systems Engineer at SPSS an IBM Company, where they managed worldwide cloud services and corporate IT infrastructures.

Pascal's career started at SPSS, where they held various roles including Senior Systems Engineer and Senior Technical Support Specialist. Pascal was involved in infrastructure architecture, service delivery, and support for worldwide cloud services and VMware-based development environments.

Throughout their career, Pascal has achieved notable accomplishments such as leading infrastructure architecture in major deals, implementing F5 Big-IP LTM for enhanced web security, and achieving top ratings and recognition for their contributions.

Pascal Tampubolon completed a Leadership Institute program at CAUDIT in 2022 and a Managers Program at CAUDIT in 2019. Pascal also obtained a Diploma of Information Technology (Software Development) from Spherion Education in 2001-2002. Further, they earned a Bachelor of Medicine degree from UNSW in 1997-1999 and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Sydney in 1995-1996.
