Sumeri Vermaak

Sumeri Vermaak serves as the Chief Officer of Risk and Insurance at the University of the Free State since September 2022, bringing extensive experience from PwC South Africa, where Sumeri held roles including Senior Manager, Manager, and Consultant from January 2013 to September 2022. Sumeri’s career began with internships at EY and Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd in 2012 and 2006 respectively. Academically, Sumeri obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with Honors in Internal Auditing in 2012 and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Internal Auditing from the University of Pretoria between 2009 and 2011, following education at Cambridge Academy from 2005 to 2008.
