Valerie Weil

Valerie Weil is the current Chief Financial and Operating Officer at University of the Sciences. Valerie has a long history of working in finance and administration for medical schools. Before their current position, they were the Interim President at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia from September 2016 to June 2022. Valerie was also the Associate Dean for Finance, Administration, and Operations at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University from January 2011 to August 2016. In this role, they were responsible for managing the annual operating and capital budgets, facilities, information technology, safety/security, and marketing functions. Valerie also led the social media strategy and implementation for Cooper Medical School. Valerie was instrumental in guiding the school through Preliminary, Provisional, and Full Accreditation by Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Prior to their time at Cooper Medical School, Valerie was the VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at The Cooper Health System from November 2003 to January 2011. Before their time in healthcare administration, Valerie worked as a Consultant at McKinsey & Company from January 2001 to December 2003.

Valerie Weil has a MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, a BS in Biology from Bucknell University, and attended North Allegheny High School.

They are on a team with Odessa P. Jackson - General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, & Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Ross W. Radish - VP, Student Affairs & Dean of Students, and Rob Rudd - VP, Institutional Advancement. Valerie Weil reports to James J. Rivard, Board Chair.
