Anne Marie Derose

Anne Marie DeRose currently serves as the Sustainability Principal at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where responsibilities include developing and implementing sustainability communication strategies and coordinating projects aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2025. Previous experience at the University of the Sunshine Coast involved facilitating an International Development program to support entrepreneurship in Papua New Guinea. A robust background in sustainable tourism education was established at the University of Queensland, along with roles in local government adaptation initiatives and stakeholder engagement through positions at ICLEI Oceania and Futureye. Additional experience encompasses strategic roles at the World Resources Institute and involvement in various capacities in ecotourism and sustainability projects. Anne Marie holds a Master's degree in Tourism Administration focused on Sustainable Development from The George Washington University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Marketing from James Madison University.
