Helen Fairweather

Helen Fairweather is an accomplished environmental engineer with extensive experience in academia and consultancy. Currently, Helen serves as the Head of Accreditation at Engineers Australia since August 2022, following a longstanding tenure at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where responsibilities include Senior Lecturer and Blended Learning Lead in Environmental Engineering since 2009. Helen's teaching and research focus on hydrology, water resources, and engineering solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Previous roles include Director of Fairweather Climate, Manager and Chief Scientist at the Queensland Climate Change Centre of Excellence, and various leadership positions in irrigation research. Helen holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of New England and a BEng with First Class Honours from the University of Southern Queensland.
