Steven West

Vice-Chancellor, President & CEO at University of the West of England

Steven West is currently the Vice-Chancellor, President & CEO at the University of the West of England. Prior to this, they were a Member of the Board and Chair at the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership from November 2014 to June 2021. Steven has also been the Regional Chair South West at CBI (Confederation of British Industry) from July 2014 to October 2016.

Steven has been with the University of the West of England in multiple capacities since January 2002, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor Planning and Resources from January 2002 to January 2008, and Dean of Faculty of Health and Social Care and Assistant Vice-Chancellor from November 1995 to January 2002. Prior to their work at the University of the West of England, Steven was at The University of Huddersfield from July 1992 to July 1995, and held the position of Non Executive Director at Office for Students from January 2018 to May 2021.

Steven West has a Bachelor of Science in Chiropody from the University of Westminster and a BSc in Podiatric Medicine from Chelsea School of Chiropody at Westminster University. Steven also has a degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from King's College London.
