Iain McLellan CEnv is an accomplished academic and environmental professional currently serving as the Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching) at the University of the West of Scotland since May 2015. Elected as a member of the University Court in December 2020, Iain monitors performance and shapes strategic directions for student success. As Programme Leader for the MSc Waste and Resource Management, Iain ensures course relevance and oversees multiple modules focused on sustainability and pollution management. Active in various professional roles, Iain is a Council Member and Trustee at the Institution of Environmental Sciences, a Member of the Board of Trustees for Environmental Protection Scotland, and has previously contributed as External Examiner at SRUC. An experienced researcher, Iain focuses on environmental pollution impacts within the Centre for Environmental Research and has held numerous roles in policy development and environmental science organizations. Iain holds a PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, a PhD in Environmental Chemistry, and a First Class BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences with Chemistry from the University of the West of Scotland.
