Martin McMahon

Cumming-presidential Chair Of Cancer Biology & Senior Director For Preclinical Translation at University of Utah

Martin McMahon currently holds the position of Cumming-Presidential Chair of Cancer Biology and Senior Director for Preclinical Translation at Huntsman Cancer Institute and the Department of Dermatology at the University of Utah, a role held since August 2015. Prior to this, Martin served as the Efim Guzik Distinguished Professor of Cancer Biology at the University of California, San Francisco, from August 1998 to July 2015, focusing on cancer biology and cell and molecular pharmacology. Martin's earlier experience includes positions as Senior Staff Scientist and Staff Scientist at DNAX Research Institute, where research centered on RAF and AKT signaling, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Hooper Foundation, examining oncogenic transformations in mammalian cells. Martin earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from King's College London and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow, and has undertaken graduate studies at Stanford University.
