Holly Painter serves as the Director at the Center For Research on Vermont since July 2025 and holds multiple roles at the University of Vermont, including Senior Lecturer in the English Department, Interim Director of the Undergraduate Writing Center, and Faculty Associate for Writing in the Disciplines, among others. An accomplished freelance editor and writer since 2003, Holly is the author of several poetry collections, including "The pressure of all that light" (2022) and "My Pet Sounds Off: Translating the Beach Boys" (2020), with a forthcoming collection titled "At last, we listen closely: cryptic crossword poems" scheduled for release in 2025. Previous experience includes internships, adjunct teaching positions, and research coordination, with a strong educational background comprising an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Southern California.
