Jonathan D'Amore

Jonathan D’Amore joined the University of Vermont as Special Assistant to the President in November 2021. He works directly with President Garimella and senior leaders on presidential communications, events, operations, and strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining UVM, Dr. D’Amore served as chief of staff in the Office of the President at Saint Michael’s College (VT). In that role, he was co-chair of the college’s strategic planning process and oversaw accreditation, government and community relations, and presidential communications. Before his work in the president’s office, he was Associate Dean of the College from 2013 to 2019, supervising academic advising and support services and providing direct service to students, and he taught in the Department of English and the First-Year Seminar Program throughout his time at Saint Michael’s. In addition to administration and teaching, he has professional experience inside and outside academia in marketing, publishing, and university events.
