T. Simeon Ananou

Chief Information Officer at University of Vermont

Dr. T. Simeon Ananou, an advocate and a champion of digital transformation for more than 20 years, became Chief Information Officer for the University of Vermont in July 2018. He is responsible for all areas of information technology at the institution, where he engages with the campus community to position IT as a strategic asset toward advancing the university’s goals.

Dr. Ananou has presented at several national and international conferences on the role and the impact of information technology on higher education. He served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership at the University of Albany and as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Information and Decision Sciences at Salisbury University.

Prior to joining the University of Vermont, Dr. Ananou served as Vice President and CIO at the University at Albany, SUNY; Chief Information Officer at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland; and Associate Provost for Information and Administrative Technology Services and Chief Information Officer at Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the Ohio State University, a Master of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from Baker College, and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he attended Harvard University’s Institute for Educational Management.
