Richard Kent

Richard Kent serves as the Frederick Tracy Morse Endowed Professor of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Virginia, where additional roles include Chair of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Orthopaedic Surgery. Richard also co-founded the Center for Applied Biomechanics. In addition, Richard founded Kent Biomechanics, LLC, in January 2019, providing consulting services in injury biomechanics, automobile safety, and sports injury prevention, among other areas. Furthermore, Richard is a Principal Consultant and Co-Founder of Biomechanics Consulting and Research, LC, established in 2003. Academic credentials include a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics from the University of Virginia, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
