Barbara Mones is a distinguished professor at the University of Washington, where this individual has served since 1999. In addition to teaching, Barbara holds the position of Creative Director for Animation and Digital Animation. Previous roles include Fellow at the University of Canterbury and Animation Participant at the Ottawa Film Festival. Barbara's extensive involvement with ACM SIGGRAPH spanned from 1985 to 2000, where responsibilities included serving as the Art Show and Panels Chair in 1997, as well as contributing to the Education Committee and Electronic Theater. Professional experience also includes positions as writer/trainer at Industrial Light and Magic and Pacific Data Images, a visiting researcher at George Washington University, and an associate professor at George Mason University. Barbara was part of the GLOBE Program Design Team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from 1991 to 1992. Educational qualifications include an MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design, along with a BFA from the University of Michigan, and coursework from the University of Washington and Sheridan College.
