Ben Sommers

Ben Sommers currently serves as the Director of Global Travel Health and Safety and previously held the position of Global Travel Security Manager at the University of Washington since September 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Program Manager at 4-H International Exchange Programs from January 2016 to September 2021, and Associate Director of International Programs at Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children from August 2012 to November 2015. Ben's career began with positions such as Research Associate at the Center for Research on Collaboratories and Technology Enhanced Learning Communities, Intern at the United Nations Asian Pacific Training Center for ICT for Development, and Program Assistant at the University of Washington. Educationally, Ben holds a Master of Arts in International Communication from American University and a Master of Arts in Korean Studies from Korea University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communication from the University of Washington and ongoing studies at Yonsei University.
