Tomas Mustelin

Tomas Mustelin currently serves as the Chief of Rheumatology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington since July 2018. In addition, Tomas Mustelin is a member of the UCSD Clinical and Translational Research Institute, focusing on collaborative opportunities. Previous roles include Vice President positions at Gilead Sciences and MedImmune, where efforts concentrated on novel therapeutics for respiratory, inflammatory, and autoimmune diseases. As an educator, Tomas Mustelin has held adjunct professorships at the Burnham Institute and UCSD, as well as interim leadership roles in various capacities. Educational credentials include a PhD in Signal Transduction and an MD from the University of Helsinki, along with a Docent in Cell Biology.
