Richard Schellhammer

Richard Schellhammer is a Professor Emeritus of History at The University of West Alabama, where professional tenure began in January 1994. Over the years, Richard held significant administrative roles including Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Chair of the Department of History and Social Sciences from June 2014 to August 2023. Prior to this, Richard served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Newberry College in late 1993. Educational credentials include a PhD in Modern German History from the University of South Carolina, an AM in European History from the University of Chicago, and a BA in History from Penn State University, with early studies in Biology at Case Western Reserve University.
