Suzanne Lewis, who earned her BA in History from the University of West Florida in 1978, completed her 32 year career with National Park Service in 2011. The last 9 years were spent as the Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park where she managed the largest park operating budget in the National Park system ($36m), provided leadership for more than 800 park staff and administered 2.2 million acres of park lands, visited by more than 4.5 million people annually from around the globe.
During her 32 year career, Suzanne also served as the Superintendent for Glacier National Park (Montana), Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (Georgia), Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve (Florida), Fort Caroline National Memorial (Florida), as well as Christensted National Historic Site, Buck Island Reef National Monument and Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve located in the US Virgin Islands.
