Tarloff has attained his Doctoral degree in Applied Language Sciences and first-degree BSc in Engineering Physics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also holds MSc in E-Commerce Technologies from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, MA in Communication and New Media from the City University of Hong Kong, and PGDip in Education (Professional and Vocational Education) from the Education University of Hong Kong with Dean’s Honour List.
Before joining UWL, Tarloff served as a Digital Education Adviser at the University of Oxford, a Learning Technologist at the University of Kent and a Senior Education Development Officer at the City University of Hong Kong. He possesses substantial teaching experience in IT, new media production and expertise in quality assurance of academic programmes.
Tarloff is actively involved in e-Learning development and always shares his works in international journal publications. In the Year 2018 and Year 2019, he was conferred two Best Paper Awards and one Outstanding Paper Award at various international conferences, the professional committees and units were the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the International Symposium on Educational Technology (ISET). His research interests are using XR technologies and new media production to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
