Janet Jones

Janet Jones is the Pro Vice-Chancellor & Head of the College of Design, Creative & Digital Industries at University of Westminster. Prior to their current role, Janet was the Dean of Arts and Creative Industries at London South Bank University from August 2014 to December 2020. Janet has also held roles as Professor of Media at Middlesex University from May 2013 to August 2014 and Associate Head of Department at the University of the West of England from October 2006 to May 2013. In 2009, Janet became Chair of Local News Group for BBC Anchor Local News Group Bristol and held that role until 2012.

Janet has dedicated their career to working in media and education. Janet is a strong advocate for the power of media to positively impact society and believes that everyone should have access to quality news and information. Janet is committed to working with local media organizations, freelance journalists, and community groups to ensure that local news remains accessible and relevant.

Janet Jones studied BA RTA Radio and Television Arts at Ryerson University. Her focus was on Journalism, Radio, and Television.

Janet Jones reports to Peter Bonfield, Vice-Chancellor. Janet Jones works with Alex Hughes - Deputy Vice–Chancellor (Global Engagement and Employability), Sal Jarvis - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), and John Cappock - University Secretary and Chief Operating Officer.
