Chris Dakes, PhD, currently serves as the Director of the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a position held since 1992. In this role, Chris focuses on addressing global grand challenges through innovative research and teaching in engineering education. Previous experience includes roles as Faculty Associate in Engineering Professional Development, Director of Educational Innovations and Learning Design at Edgewood College, and consulting for the TomoTherapy Institute of Learning. Chris has also held positions as Director of Organizational Development at Affiliated Engineers, Inc., and Associate Director of the Delta Program in Research, Teaching, and Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
