Phillip Barak is a Professor in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with an academic focus on general soil science, toxicants in the environment, and environmental remediation. In addition to teaching, Phillip has served as IT Director for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, overseeing strategic directions and managing a team that delivers essential administrative services to around 1,500 employees in the college. Phillip also has experience as the Interim IT Director and is a co-founder and Science Director of Nutrient Recovery and Upcycling, a company dedicated to commercializing nutrient recovery technologies developed in university laboratories. Phillip holds a BS, MSc, and PhD in Soil Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
