Michael Baltensperger

Michael Baltensperger is a PhD student in Economics at Universität Zürich since August 2019. Previously, Michael served as a Research Assistant at Bruegel from August 2018 to July 2019, focusing on International Economics and Energy and Climate Economics. Important policy contributions include co-authoring a publication on the European Union-Mercosur Free Trade Agreement and a report for the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Prior experience also includes an internship at the World Trade Organization, contributions to the World Trade Report 2018, and collaboration with the International Labour Organization on a training manual for policymakers. Michael's academic background includes a Master's in International Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute and two Bachelor's degrees in Business and Economics, and History and Economics from the University of Basel.
