Senior Learning Strategist at UNIVERSITY SETTLEMENT SOCIETY OF NEW YORK

Joyce Wierzbowski has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple organizations. Joyce currently holds the position of Senior Learning Strategist at the University Settlement Society of New York since September 2021. Prior to this, Joyce worked as a Senior Learning Strategist at The Door - A Center of Alternatives from July 2019 to November 2021. Joyce also served as a Learning Strategist at The Door from October 2016 to November 2021.

In addition to their roles in the non-profit sector, Joyce has worked as an Agent at New York Life Insurance Company from October 2015 to October 2016. Earlier in their career, they were employed by the NYC Department of Education, where they held the position of Teacher/Dean from September 2003 to October 2015. In this role, Joyce was responsible for various tasks such as lesson planning, curriculum design, and data-driven instruction, specializing in implementing the new Common Core standards. Their strongest skills in this role included positive classroom management, organizational abilities, and maintaining focus under pressure.

Joyce Wierzbowski's education history starts with their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from St Francis College, which they obtained from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Secondary Education at St Johns University from 1998 to 2001. In 2002 and 2003, they attended Queens College and obtained their NYS certification in Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Joyce Wierzbowski holds additional certifications. Joyce completed a course on Working Remotely through LinkedIn in April 2020. Furthermore, they possess a certification for NYC Peer Mediator and holds NYS Math 7-12th grade teaching certification alongside their previously obtained NYS elementary through 6th-grade teaching certification.
