Lisa Thorne began their career at Verizon in 2006, where they quickly rose through the ranks to become the National Director of Grassroots and Public Policy. In this role, Lisa was responsible for architecting and delivering national and state grassroots campaigns that engaged thousands of employees, retirees, and consumers. Lisa was also responsible for designing and implementing a national tool for the lobbying team that showcased key Verizon assets invested in their regions.
In 2010, Lisa was featured as a presenter at the national Public Affairs Council conferences on best practices for grassroots programs and use of social media with international employee groups. The following year, they were again featured as a presenter at the Women in Government Relations PACs, Politics, and Grassroots Conferences.
In December 2011, Lisa left Verizon to become the Communications Director at the University System of New Hampshire. In this role, Lisa is responsible for managing the University System’s communications strategy and executing its public relations efforts.
Lisa Thorne attended St. Michael's College in Winooski, VT, where they earned a B.S. in Business/Biology. Lisa also attended Trinity High School.

Lisa Thorne works with Tia Miller - Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and Board Liaison, Patricia Waldvogel - Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Government Relations and Legislative Liaison, and Catherine Provencher - Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs and Treasurer.
