Luis Carlos Velez

Luis Carlos Velez is an accomplished journalist and news executive with extensive experience in television and radio. Currently serving as the anchor of #LineaDeFuego on Univision since February 2022, Velez previously held significant roles, including News Director and Anchor at RCN Radio, where oversight of the largest radio network in Colombia was a key responsibility. Velez has also worked as Executive Vice President of News at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and as News Director at Caracol Televisión, managing substantial news programming. Earlier career milestones include positions at CNN and EL TIEMPO Casa Editorial. Velez holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, as well as degrees and certificates from Harvard University, Universidad de Los Andes, and The London School of Economics, further complemented by a forthcoming course at Harvard Business School focused on the business of entertainment, media, and sports.
