Carl Miller has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Starting in 2002, they worked as the Director of Sales at Pronto Networks, where they built and developed a strong sales team. Carl also held the position of VP of Business Development at MyZhone.com, where they led sales training and incentive programs. In 2008, they joined GlobalCollect / Ingenico as the Global Director - Retail and later became the Director of Business Development, focusing on global payment solutions. From 2014 to 2019, they served as the SVP of Global Strategy and Business Development at Reach, providing retailers with access to global payment services. Carl was also a founding member of Sidebar and worked as the SVP of Sales for North America at Unlimit. Additionally, Carl Miller has been involved in various advisory board roles, including with the MRC | Merchant Risk Council and Getting to Global. Carl co-founded the Global Retail Insights Network (The GRIN Labs) and served as a board member.

Carl Miller attended UC Santa Barbara where they obtained a BA degree in Communication Studies and Business. In 2013 and 2014, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business for an Executive Education Program with a focus on Business Innovation. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Dare to Lead from Dare to Lead™ Trained, Removing Barriers to Change from the University of Pennsylvania, and Business Strategy from Section4. Carl also attended a Business Model Generation Workshop & Masterclass, but the year of completion is unknown.
