Andres Valencia

Andres Valencia has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Andres started their career at Netting Solutions as a Systems Analyst, where they designed and implemented technical and functional requirements for companies like HP and Coca-Cola. Andres also created e-learning and content management systems and automated reports with metrics.

Andres then worked at Pan-American Life Insurance Group as a Business Analyst, where they defined and analyzed customer needs and developed strategies to increase productivity throughout the company. Andres collaborated with different business units and leveraged IT to deliver competitive proposals.

At everis, Andres worked as a Consultant, specifically as a technology architecture analyst. Andres adjusted and matched TELCO standards using the NGOSS framework, identified infrastructure optimization priorities, and proposed target technological models to exceed customer expectations.

Andres then joined CENET SA as a Software Engineer, where they developed and maintained complex software components for a social security online payment platform. Andres also planned the strategy for migrating legacy databases and implemented the Call Center web application.

At Bizagi, they worked as a Front-end Engineer, collaborating on the architecture of the company's flagship Business Process Management product for iPad. Andres also delivered high-quality mock-ups and prototyped the web application and implemented data access via REST services.

Andres then joined IMS Health as a Front-end Engineer, where they architected and developed front-end dashboards using MVC patterns. Andres also designed and deployed REST services.

Next, they joined AppDirect as a Senior Frontend Engineer, where they designed and implemented UIs, handled migration of users to the platform, and contributed to the implementation of lead generation strategies.

At Xapo Bank, Andres served as a Frontend Architect, transforming the department frontend codebase to a declarative and component-based architecture. Andres also contributed to the design and implementation of REST APIs and advocated for tech designs.

After that, Andres worked at Airtime as a Senior Software Engineer, where they built the leading web product using Vue.js.

Most recently, they joined Unlock as a Senior Software Engineer. Andres created a library of unit-tested components, increased codebase feature coverage, and architected the customer-facing app with Next.js.

Andres Valencia obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Computer Science from Universidad EAN between 2003 and 2008. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained several certifications. In March 2020, they completed a course titled "Learning Python" from LinkedIn. In February 2020, they completed two courses: "Amazon Web Services Machine Learning Essential Training" and "Learning the Python 3 Standard Library," both from LinkedIn. In May 2014, they completed a course called "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" from Coursera. In September 2013, they completed a course titled "MongoDB for node.js developers" from MongoDB University. In November 2012, they completed a course called "Human-Computer Interaction" from Coursera. Lastly, in March 2003, they obtained a certification in "Designing and implementing SQL Server Databases" from Microsoft.
