Unlock Capital lends to High Net Worth angel investors after valuing their private investment portfolios.

We work with angel investors seeking access to liquidity without a need to sell any of their portfolio holdings. Our approach is designed for investors with exposure to early stage and private companies who need capital now or want to manage their capital more flexibly in the medium to longer term.

What we do:
• Lend from £70,000 to £500,000 on an interest only basis to angel investors as personal loans, having valued their qualifying angel investment portfolio (usually several investments, at least 3 years old and with a minimum overall Portfolio value of £200,000) to ensure satisfactory repayment of the loan
• Structure our loan facility around our customers’ needs and objectives
• Clear, disciplined and risk aware structuring with transparency and easy to read legal documents.

Why it matters:
Angel portfolios usually hold significant value, but that value is illiquid for many years - sometimes more than 10 delete this period. Unlock Capital enables eligible angel investors to access funds against their portfolio while continuing to hold their underlying investments - including all the potential S/EIS and other tax benefits.

One of our Directors is an experienced Angel Investor having made 27 Investments, and another Director is a very experienced Banker who understands safe lending and meeting customer’s needs. Delete this - everything around providing loans and the necessary compliance and regulation. With this combined experience across investing, structuring, legal and advisory work, Unlock Capital has a significant depth of relevant experience in this sector.

Move to top? We have a laser-like focus on a specific issue in private markets: enabling angel investors to gain liquidity quickly and effectively - between their original investment and their eventual exit.
