Laura Richards FCIPR is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience across various sectors. As the Founding Director of Idea Junkies LTD since September 2021, Laura has led initiatives in public relations and business mentoring roles at UnLtd and as a Lecturer in PR at Newcastle University. Previous positions include External Communications Manager, Acting Head of Communications at Changing Lives, and Head of Communications at Sunderland Software City. Laura's early career encompassed roles such as Marketing & PR Manager at Northstar Ventures UK and Communications Manager at SALT Academy - Cambodia. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Media and PR from Newcastle University, a PGCert in Strategic Leadership in Public Services from Northumbria University, and a BA (Hons) in Media Production, also from Northumbria University.

UnLtd's mission is to reach out and unleash the energies of people who can transform the world in which they live. We call these people social entrepreneurs. We are the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in the UK and offers the largest such network in the world. We resource nearly 1,000 individuals each year through our core Awards programme. We operate a unique model by investing directly in individuals and offering a complete package of resources; from Awards of funding between £500 and £15,000 to ongoing advice, networking and practical support. We also resource community entrepreneurs to start-up; support those with more established ventures to scale up; and are committed to developing an eco-system of support to make it easier for those who need help to find it.
