Martin Charlier

Head of Product & Design at Unmade

Martin Charlier has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Martin started their career as a Modelshop Intern at frog design, where they later became a Designer and worked in digital design and research. Martin then interned at Samsung Design Europe before joining rAndom International as a Designer, specializing in interactive art installations. Martin worked on various projects, including a large-scale interactive light installation for Bloomberg.

Martin then joined Fjord (Accenture) as an Interaction Design Researcher and later became a Senior Designer and Design Consultant. During their time at Fjord, they worked on digital product design, design research, and service innovation projects for major brands in consumer electronics, luxury technology, and retail. Martin also contributed to the EU-funded Smarcos project, exploring design for the Internet of Things.

Martin went on to co-found Rain Cloud, a project focused on single-purpose connected devices and ambient interaction. Additionally, they worked as a freelance Interaction Design Lead at Method and as a Product and Service Designer at Marcharlier Ltd. Martin conducted design strategy, UX design, and design research for clients in areas such as Internet of Things and digital innovation.

Currently, Martin is the Head of Product & Design at Unmade, a company dedicated to modernizing the fashion and sportswear value chains. Martin collaborates with different teams and customers to shape the company's product roadmap and improve its product and design work, contributing to Unmade's vision of transforming the industry.

Martin Charlier attended Ravensbourne University London from 2008 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Product and Interaction Design.
