Pilar Sopena Suils

Pilar Sopena Suils has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Pilar is currently working at Unmade as a Principal Engineer since December 2022. Before that, they were a Senior Backend Engineer at Unmade from February 2019 to December 2022. Prior to joining Unmade, they worked at Blackwell's Bookshops as a Software Engineer, where they focused on backend and dev-ops development for their e-textbook platform from January 2015 to December 2017. Pilar also had a role as an android developer for a short period of time. Before Blackwell's Bookshops, Pilar worked at GIMO Global Interactive Marketing Online Ltd as a PHP Developer, where they were involved in PHP backend and Javascript frontend development, system integration, and database integration using MongoDB/MySQL. Pilar began their professional journey as an Analyst/Web developer at Culmin Innovación y Soluciones S.L., where they were responsible for the development and management of a sports event management system from March 2010 to April 2014. Prior to that, they took a career break for skills development, focusing on improving their English skills. Pilar also gained research experience as a Research Assistant at IRIT, where they contributed to the design and development of a multi-agent system platform and worked on the ROSACE research project.

Pilar Sopena Suils completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Pilar attended this institution from 2001 to 2008. In 2009, they pursued a brief period of study at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in a field called "Interaction Coopération et Systèmes Complexes." Additionally, Pilar has acquired additional certifications, including "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python" from Coursera and "EFSET EXPRESS High Proficiency (CEFR C1/C2)" from EF Education First.
